Dr. Richard Rettig

Dr. Rettig celebrates 38 years of providing care to the North and Northwest Philadelphia Community in his main office next to Einstein Hospital.  He also maintains a 'satellite' office to serve Northeast Philadelphia, Cheltenham, Abington, Rockledge and other Eastern Montgomery county communities.  He has been the Chief of the Podiatry Division, Albert Einstein Medical Center for 24 years.

Dr. Rettig graduated from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1980, then did a residency in Hawthorne, California.  He is Past President of the Philadelphia County Podiatric Medical Society, and is currently active on the board of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association.  He is past Residency Director as well as Department Chief of Podiatry at the former J.F.Kennedy Memorial Hospital.

He is board certified in Foot and Ankle Surgery (Diplomate)  and is a former Fellow of the American Foot and Ankle Society.

He is also a long time board member of the Pennsylvania Podiatric Medical Association.

Dr. Rettig is an avid skier and is past President of his local ski club,  Tiroler Ski Club.




 


Dr. Mohammad Malik

Dr. Mohammad Malik obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and then his Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from Temple University. He completed his residency training at the Sisters of Charity hospital system in Buffalo, New York. In his final year he served as chief resident. Dr. Malik is qualified in Reconstructive Foot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He also has training in and has done research on diabetic limb salvage. Dr. Malik is enjoying being back and working in his hometown. In his free time he enjoys playing and watching basketball, watching movies, and travelling. 

 

 

 

 

 

 




Dr. Pragnesh Patel

Podiatrist

Dr. Pragnesh Patel, DPM, is a highly qualified podiatric surgeon practicing at Einstein Podiatry Associates. He provides comprehensive care for all aspects of foot and ankle conditions including bunions, hammertoe, heel pain, plantar fasciitis, diabetic foot infections and wounds, flat feet, and much more. Dr. Patel specializes in both nonsurgical and surgical treatment options and strongly believes in preventive medicine.

For his undergraduate education, Dr. Patel received a Bachelor of Arts in Cell Biology, Neuroscience, and Economics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in New Brunswick. Subsequently, he earned a doctor of podiatric medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in New York City, graduating with top honors. 

Dr. Patel completed his podiatric medicine and surgery residency at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Northport, New York, and at the Level I Trauma Center of Stony Brook University Hospital in Stonybrook, New York, where he added credentials in reconstructive rearfoot/ankle surgery.

As a humanitarian, Dr. Patel has a deep passion for giving back to people who don’t have easy access to quality health care. He makes annual medical mission trips to Honduras to serve underprivileged children with congenital foot and ankle deformities. Through Operation Footprints Inc., formerly known as Baja Project for Crippled Children, Dr. Patel performs surgeries to repair foot and ankle deformities in children of all ages. He has also volunteered in Limon, Nicaragua, through the Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children to provide medical relief and basic necessities.

Dr. Patel is a huge fan of the Philadelphia Eagles (fly Eagles fly!). He also enjoys taking part in many types of sports, including tennis, golf, football, badminton, and swimming. Dr. Patel is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi.
